After a few reports of problems with filing claims, NARSVPD decided to survey our membership to see if these reports were universal.

Of the 62 RSVP Directors that responded to the survey:

• 100% reported that they currently carry Excess Liability Insurance

• 83% purchased insurance through CIMA

• The other common carriers identified included The Hartford and State Insurance Reserves

• The mean insurance premium was $1844.53

• 39% of projects have filed a claim

• 9.7% reported problems in filing a claim.

The most common concerns were:

• Contacting CIMA was difficult

• The Insurance Company requested the same forms multiple times

• Once a claim was filed, the RSVP Director lacked knowledge on the status of the claim

• There were a few reports of denied claims
