Volunteer Agreement

East Mississippi Angels

Objective: The East MS. Angels can help community agencies meet unidentified but urgent needs of elderly/disabled individuals by providing a means of socialization and personal contact by a volunteer (Angel). The recipient of this program (MVP’s) is going to be seniors over the age of 55, and disabled citizens of any age. Angels will agree to contact their MVP at least 2 times a month.

 

East MS. Angels Objective

To organize and co-ordinate volunteers to provide regular social interaction and random acts of kindness for the elderly and/or disabled individuals who meet program criteria.

East MS. Angels is a program that will be established by The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and the East MS. United Way, in the counties of Lauderdale, Clark, and Kemper.

The East MS. Angels can help these agencies meet an unidentified but urgent need to elderly and/or disabled individuals by providing a means of socialization and personal contact by a volunteer (Angel). The recipients of the program are going to be called Most Valuable Person (MVP). MVP’s are going to be seniors over the age of 60 and disabled individuals of any age.

All volunteers are required to provide three personal references and agree to a background check.

All volunteers are required to sign a “Volunteer Agreement” that will include protecting the confidentiality of MVP information and a “code of conduct form” stating that they will conduct themselves in a professional and conscientious manner.

 

OPERATION HELPING HANDS.

Operation Helping Hands is a program where seniors 55+ call homebound/disabled individuals just to check on them or chat with them.

 

This is a program that fosters community outreach and socialization for individuals who are in need of socialization. Your hours of chatting on the telephone or visiting others can count as volunteer hours locally.
